Diana’s Testimony

My Testimony

For most of my life, I believed in God because I thought it was the right thing to do. It was good to have a church, good to attend regularly, and good to raise your children in a church. It wasn’t until recently that I realized there is a lot more to a relationship with God than doing what you are “supposed” to do. A true relationship with God is not just about checking the boxes – it’s about inviting God into your life.

Though I didn’t realize it over the years, God has been pursuing a relationship with me – through the people and the experiences He has put into my life.  Several years ago, I went on a mission trip with an organization called Amazon Outreach. This group travels on a boat down the Amazon River taking the gospel (as well as medical and dental care) to the Forgotten People along the river. Because the only way to reach the villages along the river is by boat, these sweet people consider themselves “forgotten.” This mission trip was truly a life-changing experience for me.

I came home with such immense gratitude – for my salvation, my life, my family and my friends. I wanted to take what I felt and learned about myself and God on that boat in the Amazon and see how God wanted me to use it here, at home. I felt like God showed me how much more my life can be if I will invite Him in and live to glorify Him.
